For Parents

Parents and schools need to work together to ensure the success of students. You will find a ready partner for this work at Village Oaks. We will design engaging lessons, give one on one instruction/counseling, and provide supports to your student that they may have lacked in their prior educational setting. It is important to understand that even with all of the support of our staff, parents play an important role in providing support and building the confidence of their children. More than anything, ensuring your child is on time for school regularly will ensure their overall success in our program.

What you can do at home to engage with your student and the school:

  • Talk with your student about homework and offer to help your student understand and learn.
  • Talk with your student about the importance of learning.
  • Talk with your students about college and careers.
  • Help your student organize homework.
  • Read notes, announcements and newsletters from the school.
  • Send notes or call the school to communicate with teachers and other school staff.
  • *Fill out and send back surveys to share your ideas about supporting your student’s learning and growth and about parent involvement.
